Residents of the village of Tërpan, in the municipality of Poliçan, protested this Thursday, blocking the Tërpan-Përmet national road for about an hour.
They say that this action aims to attract the attention of institutions to solve the problems created by road works.
According to residents, the construction of the national axis Tërpan–Ballaban–Përmet has led to the blockage of the village's access road. They claim that the segment has narrowed significantly, making it difficult to enter homes and access to olive plantations. Residents also point out that during the works, drainage channels have been damaged or blocked, which has caused flooding in the residential area.
According to them, even though the works have not yet been completed, the situation has brought a number of problems to their daily lives. They are demanding immediate intervention to open the village road, so that they can have normal access with vehicles to their homes and with agricultural equipment to their lands.
The Administrator of the Tërpan Administrative Unit, Fatmir Çela, stated that the concerns raised by the residents are justified. He explained that for several days, the works of the company implementing the project have blocked and narrowed the existing secondary road that serves as the entrance to the village.
Çela announced that the issue has been forwarded to the Poliçan Municipality, which, according to him, has confirmed immediate intervention to resolve the situation. As for the stones that fell during the works, the administrator emphasized that the responsibility for this issue lies with the construction company.
