Economic expert Ergis Sefa spoke with numbers and clearly explained the huge economic damage caused by the blockade of the southeast.
In the Quo Vadis studio, Sefa said that this situation is weighing more on citizens' pockets, as everything is being reflected in the price of products.
"There is a regulator. For every 10% delay in goods, there is an impact on the final price, 1%. Apples coming from Korça, if they came in 3 days, come in 7 days, and at a higher price. 75% of the economy has passed through that axis. Last year, our trade with North Macedonia was 23 billion lek, only through this axis. That axis is a trace of Corridor 8. The cost of expanding the road, without these damages, was 250 million euros and over 400 million euros for the railway. Now add the damage, there is another cost. For 8 years now, the budget of the Ministry of Infrastructure has been either the first or the second place in the state budget. Theoretically, there should also be a final approval, after the completion of the road works", said Sefa.
