Matura rules change, controls during testing are strengthened to avoid thesis

From June 2 to June 23, around 26,000 high school students will take the 4 mandatory state matriculation exams. The Ministry of Education has approved several changes to the regulations with the aim of strengthening controls during testing, as well as avoiding the leakage of theses or copying.

"The most important thing in this regulation is to increase the responsibilities of those who manage the matura exams, from the administration manager, secretaries or floor managers, to be very confident in the duty they have in each exam center. On the other hand, the same rules continue for high school graduates: technological devices such as phones or watches are not allowed. We have had about 3-4 penalties last year for administration managers who will no longer be engaged in 2026 ," said Deputy Minister of Education, Oriana Osmani, reports TCH.

Osmani, who is also the chairwoman of the Committee for the Organization of the Matura, indicates that there will also be a review of the content of the exams, as work has begun on drafting theses by the QSHA. Meanwhile, model tests have been distributed to 12th grade students to prepare in advance.

" The Educational Services Center has taken measures to organize groups of thesis writers to update the question funds. This has come as a result of the minor changes that the matura programs have undergone and of course for an update of the knowledge that the student has acquired in these 3 years ," she added.

The list of names of high school graduates is expected to be published sooner than in past high school graduations.

"This year there will be an earlier institutional communication. We are talking about students who cannot successfully complete the matura; their names will appear earlier and will not be on the final list of schools. It is the obligation of the leaders to carefully look at the number of dropouts ," emphasized Osmani.

The advice for high school graduates is to be systematic in preparing for the matura and not leave the revision for the last few days.
