A day after the passing of Fatos Nano, the historic leader of the Socialist Party, publisher Arlinda Dudaj spoke about her reflections on the personality and what former Prime Minister Fatos Nano left behind.
Dudaj confessed that he had not personally known Nano, but this happened through the book of his ex-wife, Rexhina Nano, published in 2008.
According to her, this book, beyond the furor it caused at the time of publication, the story contained in the book reflects an important period of political and social transformations of the country, including personal life, the fall of communism, Nano's imprisonment, and the leadership of the Socialist Party.
"I met Fatos Nano through his ex-wife who wrote and published a book in 2008. Rexhina Nano wrote a book titled "Living Time". It is a book that caused a stir when it was published because people were curious since there had been a divorce between them, and the book would contain and feed rumors. In fact, this book is anything but rumors.
"Books are what remain and are important for understanding history, and the book has a very strong chapter in the history of our country. Apart from Nano, who has an indisputable role, the book tells exactly this story, from the starting point when they met and got married, through the letters they wrote to each other and Rexhina's story, it is a very important part that starts from the fall of communism, the takeover of the Socialist Party, the change, the moments of prison and up to the year of the divorce," Arlinda Dudaj told "Euronews Albania".
