Mass death of fish and turtles in Lake Bestrova in Vlora, authorities start investigations

For more than a week, hundreds of dead fish have appeared on the shores of Lake Bestova, 7 km from Vlora.

The veterinary service in Vlora and the Fisheries Inspectorate have started investigations.

Samples of the water and the surrounding area have been taken to find out the causes of this mass death.

There are about 1500 kg of dead fish, but besides the fish on the shore there are also dozens of dead turtles.
