Journalist Anila Hoxha has revealed secrets from her life in the field. She has been covering justice for decades, and on "Live From Tirana" with Ronaldo Sharka, she spoke candidly, from her profession to her personal life.
-During your long career, have you ever received any threatening messages?
It happened, I didn't make them public. I always declared them to the editorial office, always, in any case. It could have been a case on Facebook, on my phone, it could have been a direct call with a hidden number, with a foreign number… Threats from the mildest and messages to the family… I discussed them with the editorial office, with the editorial directors and we decided what was done next. But I always made them present.
-Are you scared?
Yes, I was scared. I have also been attacked during interviews for public statements. I won't say the name, but a former judge, I just reported regularly, the way she approached me was very aggressive during the press statement addressed to me. I didn't take it personally. I'm not saying that on this occasion I put on my shoes and thought about how I would feel if I were an accused person, but maybe this is where experience comes in. I asked the questions, I stayed professionally in a professional posture and only asked the questions. Many citizens, I have noticed officials or former officials, when the journalist is reporting, they deliberately confuse it and use it as a moment of intimidation so that the journalist will stop and stop reporting about them.
