Several hundred people said their final goodbyes to Ilaria Sula, the 22-year-old murdered in Rome by her ex-boyfriend Mark Antony Samson.
According to the autopsy, the young woman died of hemorrhage caused by three stab wounds. The boy's mother is "under investigation for complicity in hiding the body," said Fabrizio Gallo, the lawyer for the 23-year-old arrested. But if in Rome investigators continue to investigate the crime, in Terni a procession followed the girl's coffin to the municipal cemetery.
Hundreds of people followed the coffin and then accompanied it to the city cemetery where balloons were released in memory of the girl. But throughout the procession, banners, posters and numerous thoughts in memory of Ilaria could be read. Present were representatives from local institutions, representatives of the province and municipality of Terni, as well as the rector of the La Sapienza University of Rome, Antonella Polimeni.
Ilaria's father: "She didn't deserve this end"
"We are here to say goodbye to my daughter Ilaria for the last time, she did not deserve this end because she was truly an angel. We demand justice and thank the Italian police," said Flamur Sula, Ilaria's father, at the end of the funeral ceremony. Referring to Samson, the girl's father said: "he should rot in prison." The girl's brother, Leoni, called his sister a "golden girl."

The investigation assumes that the murder of Ilaria Sula took place on March 25, the day of the young woman's disappearance. That evening, the girl was going to the house where Samson lived with his parents, in via Homs in the African neighborhood of Rome. The police found several blood stains in the ex-boyfriend's bedroom. Biological material has been collected for forensic analysis. The position of Samson's parents, who were at home at the time of the murder, is also under investigation by investigators. The boy's mother is under investigation for collaboration in hiding a corpse.
