The investigative group continues its investigation into the murder of Ilaria Sula, while Mark Samson, the Albanian woman's 23-year-old ex-boyfriend, has been arrested.
Meanwhile, the interrogation of the 23-year-old's mother has been continuing at the Rome Police Department for several hours. The news was given by Fabrizio Gallo, the 23-year-old's lawyer. "Mark Samson's father will not be heard today. He was not at home and that is clear," said the lawyer, specifying that "the mother was at home and is now clarifying her position."
Mark Samson's mother is under investigation for her assistance in hiding the body, said Fabrizio Gallo, the lawyer for the 23-year-old arrested for the murder of Ilaria Sula, a 22-year-old student of Albanian origin.
The lawyer explained that Mark Samson's father was not at the apartment at the time the crime occurred, he returned late for dinner.
"The murder occurred at noon, Mark Samson's father returned home in the evening," the lawyer added as he left the police station.
Ilaria Sula, 22, was a student at the University of Rome. After her disappearance on March 25, friends and colleagues at the university had appealed for her help, while Ilaria's parents had filed a missing person's report at the San Lorenzo police station.
Her body was found on April 2 in a suitcase thrown on a cliff, near the municipality of Pol, between Tivoli and the capital. Ex-boyfriend Mark Samson has confessed to killing the 22-year-old, who died after being stabbed in the neck. The crime took place in the house where the boy lives with his parents in the African neighborhood.

The student's funeral took place today in Terni. At around 2:00 p.m., a procession began from her home in Viale dello Stadio to the municipal cemetery, where a small ceremony was also held. The father thanked "the entire city, the mayor and the police and all the people for their solidarity with his family, but also those who went to say their last goodbyes to Ilaria."
