Security expert Ervin Karamuço has provided details regarding the anti-terror operation conducted the day before in Orosh. According to Karamuço, the base found would be used for training other people.
He emphasized that there are several radicalized individuals in Albania, including former members of the Armed Forces.
"The anti-terror police, which has carried out a successful operation, it must be said, without casualties, is the end point of a process that takes place with the monitoring of this contingent. Initially, intelligence services are introduced and the US has increased surveillance in the Balkans. Not only in Albania, but also in Kosovo, North Macedonia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
There are cases of people repatriated after coming from ISIS. Here we have another case, because there are some radicalized, among them former members of the Armed Forces, certainly in pathological mental conditions, where they think about jihad. Information has been obtained that they were armed inside the house. The police have located them through several devices. It was not an ordinary house; one of them, in his mind, wanted to model a training camp. They wanted to increase the ranks and start missions ,” Karamuço said on the “NOW” show on Euronews Albania.
