Another strong statement was made this evening on the Pamflet podcast, "Të Pashoq", by Shemsi Prençi, security expert and former head of the State Police, who revealed an alarming reality within the ranks of the blue uniforms.
Prençi recounted a personal episode, where he was stopped by a police officer around 40 years old, who expressed his deep disappointment in his generation. According to Prençi, the officer respectfully mentioned the older generations who had graduated from the four-year academy and the serious leaders who once led the State Police. “They don’t come anymore,” the officer told him, adding that today police officers are abandoning the institution.
The reason, according to Prenç, is direct and serious. The officers feel betrayed by their bosses and superiors.
Shemsi Prençi: A police officer, about 40 years old, stopped me. And he mentioned, he said, to greet, he said, generations of officers like your generation who graduated from the four-year academy and he mentioned some names, police leaders, mentioning serious officers of the state police who have been titular. I have information that there are many vacancies in the state police, in the basic role officers, in the role of deputy commissioner and commissioner, excluding the levels of chief commissioners and managers who receive catapulted positions, the others do not see career prospects because today the jobs select people by holding the queue at Gys Agas's office or Suel Çela's office.
