The latest report from the Center for Educational Services analyzed universities for the 2024–2025 academic year.

At the national level, it turns out that students enrolled in private universities have a higher average than students enrolled in public HEIs. While only 66.92% of the total quotas have been filled with registrations, which shows that out of 32,177 seats in the auditoriums, more than 10,000 of them have remained empty.

The compilation of statistics shows that excellent students make up only 8.6% of registered students. In the gender and urbanization comparison, it is found that women have a higher average grade than men and urban students have better academic performance than those in villages.

Out of 593 study programs nationwide, 5 of them are the most sought-after, with no vacancies remaining. Specifically, it is General Medicine at the University of Medicine, followed by Finance, General Nursing, Economic Informatics and Informatics from the University of Tirana.

Of the total number of students registered last year, out of 21,547 registrations, only 6.53% belong to programs that specialize in teaching. Therefore, the Ministry of Education's study confirms the problem of declining interest among young people in the teaching profession.

To analyze the quality of enrolled students, noting that the minimum GPA criterion is higher, 7.5, compared to 6.5 in other first-cycle programs, the average of all enrolled in teaching programs is 7.91. The highest-quality teaching students are enrolled in the Computer Science study program at the University of Tirana, while the lowest average is found in Geography. / Top Channel
