Tonight's guest on the podcast "Të Pashoq" was lawyer Arben Llangozi, who focused on the case of Erion Veliaj. According to him, prosecutor Ols Dado should have resigned from the case, as there is a conflict of interest. According to him, the ILD should have also initiated investigations, but according to the lawyer, this is the most corrupt body in the country.
-How do you see Mr. Veliaj's reactions?
His reactions are normal, even if they are not thrown by him, but by his staff. He should have raised these remarks the first time he left the prosecutor's office, but he said he was pleased to have met two colleagues. This was the moment that if there were conflicts, as Mr. Veliaj claims, he gave the prosecutor a building permit.
-When bad things happen to a person, they react...
If you had a conflict, you should have requested the prosecutor's exclusion. When the prosecutor has this conflict of interest.
-Do we have a conflict of interest?
Apparently, we have the prosecutor who should have resigned and guaranteed the process. I don't know if he did and it wasn't accepted by the chief prosecutor, but it should be controlled by the court. The public here thinks we have an affair. For justice to be pure, when there are conflicts, the prosecutor should resign. He may be very honest and has professionalism in the investigation, but if suspicions arise that he was elected in violation of the law, he should be monitored by law enforcement agencies. The agency that should be put into motion is the ILD and I say, because it is the most corrupt in the country and does not do its job. The first to be dissolved or replaced is the High Inspector of Justice. We have several other cases where this inspector initiates a proceeding only from denunciations. He is nonexistent. Maybe Metani has a handle on the SPAK handcuffs for himself.
