Criminalistics expert Ervin Karamuço has shed light on the escape scheme of the perpetrators of the recent assassination attempt in Elbasan where Mondi Mëhalla was killed, confirming that the person suspected of being the organizer did not pass through the official border crossing, but used an unknown route through Rrajca, in the mountainous area of Prrenjas that connects to North Macedonia.
According to Karamuço, this is the main reason why the police do not have data in the TIMS system on the perpetrator's departure abroad.
Karamuço: The person who is thought and suspected of being the organizer, did not flee from the border crossing as the police think, but from Rrajca. So the part of Prrenjas up in the mountains that ends in Macedonia. And this is the reason why there is no data in TIMS regarding the crossing, so that the traces are lost more. And the route of the car, so also of these people who initially took refuge in Prrenjas. So, no, they planned not to turn back towards Elbasan and to cross from Tirana or from Peqin, because on that, on that day there were long lines of vehicles. And they thought it was better to flee, that the road was empty and to cross, to be in Prrenjas and then cross the border, I don't know, one of them and so on. So, they planned it. The truth seems perfect, but what happened before, the attempts to reconcile, the big fights, the threats, the messages, the cooperation of some people then how to resolve the conflict and then their leaving and withdrawal because the conflict lasted to the point where this one had to be executed. The police had a very big gift from these people themselves that made them shed light on all of this.
