After completing the verifications at the reception center in Shengjin, 12 of the 16 immigrants who arrived in our country on Wednesday were sent to the Gjadri camp.
They were transported by bus at midnight, while the other 4, two of whom are minors and 2 with health problems, were sent to Italy.
It is learned that the procedures are being continued by the Italian authorities, also with the help of the Albanian ones, since yesterday, when the ship "Libra" arrived with the first 16 refugees of the contingent, with Egyptians and Syrians.
The capacity at the moment is 400 people and so far 70% of the reception and accommodation structures have been completed, including the necessary logistics.
Specifically, around 08:00 yesterday morning, the ship "Libra" anchored in the port of Shengjin with 10 refugees from Bangladesh and 6 Egyptians.
On Monday, October 14, 2024, the ship 'Libra' of the Italian Navy departs from Lampedusa towards Albania to bring the first group of immigrants to the immigrant camp in Gjadër. They were rescued at sea on Sunday 13 October.
Initially, an initial check of the immigrants was carried out on board to verify that they meet the requirements set out in the protocol: to be from safe countries and men. Women, minors, tortured persons and the sick are sent to Lampedusa and there they wait for their asylum request to be examined by the territorial commissions.
