The former president of Albania, Ilir Meta, was arrested yesterday by order of SPAK. The head of the Freedom Party was handcuffed by the Special Unit near a shopping center in Tirana.
Indeksonline has exclusively learned that Meta had a "busy agenda" in the Republic of Kosovo before his arrest.
He held a meeting with Menduh Thaçi, the chairman of the Albanian Democratic Party (PDSH) in a hotel (name known to the editors) in Prevalla.
Asked by Indeksonline about the arrest and the meeting with Meta, Thaçi was reluctant to talk about this topic. "... that I had no comment at all, because it is a problem to comment on court proceedings", he said briefly.
Unofficially, it is learned that former president Meta tried to bring Menduh Thaçin into a coalition with VMRO.
I remember that in August, Meta met with representatives of VMRO in Saint Naum. The leader of VMRO-DPMNE, Hristijan Mickoski, was also part of the meeting.
