After the arrest of Evis Berberi, the government appoints Gentian Gjyli as the head of ARRSH

The government has appointed Gentian Gjylin as the new General Director of the Albanian Road Authority.

His appointment to this position comes after the arrest of Evis Berber by SPAK a week ago. Gjyli is an internal appointment in the ranks of ARRSH. Previously, he held the position of the head of the projects sector and recently that of the deputy general director of ARRSH.

However, sources from ARRSH told Kapital that the appointment of Mr. Gjyli seems to have been under emergency conditions. The government is running out of names of directors in important state agencies, who are falling into SPAK's net, so much so that it doesn't even have time to look for other candidates.

Mr. Gjyli will now be the head of one of the institutions with the largest portfolio of the Albanian state. During the following year, ARRSH is expected to tender over 200 million euros in road construction contracts, including tenders for the expansion of the Tirana-Durrës road and the Elbasan-Qafë Thane road.

These tenders have already been announced in the forecast register of the Public Procurement Agency and are expected to take place in the coming months.
