The Democratic Party has invited the group of deputies of Gazment Bardhi and Sali Berisha as well as other opposition forces to come together and go with a unified draft for the Electoral Reform.
The vice president of the Democratic Party Kreshnik Çollaku said that they are open to sit down and dialogue if the opportunity is found. He says that we have chances to achieve something that is of vital interest, as he emphasizes that the DP is interested in having a new electoral reform.
"We can sit down in a civil manner, find the word, dialogue and go to a unified government proposal. More than an empty debate, about who will sit in one chair or another, what interests the opposition is the content, how the opposition will achieve the product of the electoral reform, not what the name of the leader of the opposition is. I am responsible for my thoughts on what I say and I guarantee it. All parties to this draft must remain in a playful manner.
We are open to sit down to discuss and if we find the opportunity to go with a unified draft. To reach a consensus, debate and reason are needed. We have chances to achieve something that is of vital interest. We as the opposition are the first interested in having a new electoral reform. The diversion of strife, let alone blockages, is irrational. The majority is essentially uninterested in changing this electoral code. Why will Rama change this electoral code? They are invited at any hour at any second. Let's hope that it can be produced with a unified draft" , said Çollaku.
As for Gazment Bardhi's request to the Speaker of the Assembly, for changing the composition of the Special Parliamentary Commission for Electoral Reform, Çollaku said that this is an illegal request.
"There is no official representative of the DP in Bardhi's list. What is happening is illegal, unconstitutional and an unnecessary provocation. If Albieaj leaves, the DP representation will be destroyed", said Çollaku for "Report TV".
