The former mayor of Mallakastra, Agron Kapllanaj, has given his version of the incident that occurred on Tuesday afternoon at the premises of his company in Fier. The incident involved BKH agents and operatives of the Operational Forces, as well as people from Kapllanaj, while three people were arrested, Ledjan and Klaudio Kapllanaj (the two nephews) and Gerald Kollçaku.
Kapllanaj says a civilian vehicle with three people appeared in his company's parking lot, two of whom were flying a drone. He says company representatives came out to seek clarification, but they said they wanted to film a nearby piece of land, and that according to him, they were not identified as agents or operatives.
After they left the first time, Kapllanaj emphasized that he went to file a police report.
"They set up a drone and filmed it, left and came back. When they came back, I, the company director and two other specialists were in the office. The guard said that a car had come to our parking lot twice. The guard called the director and said, 'Can I ask them why they are filming our premises?' He asked them and they said what was the problem. You parked here. The lady said, 'We are interested in buying a piece of land and that is why we set up the drone.' The company director said, 'Find the right place and film the property because the parking lot belongs to the company and the property here is not for sale.' I asked the director to take a picture of the car's license plate, knowing who we are dealing with. When the director took the picture, one of them told him that he should erase it. A person who did not get out of the car but was behind the wheel told him that he should erase it because he cannot imagine what will happen to you. He threatened him. The company director said, 'I did not erase it, but I I reported to my owner.
He says he will make you and the owner a slave if you don't delete it now. At this time, the director calls me and tells me that they are threatening me, cursing and insulting me. When I get out, the car has left. At that time, I see the director very angry. At first, I had no contact with them. I go to the police. I ask the guard if there is a manager. Is it possible for you to make an appointment with the manager because I want to talk about a report about an incident that happened to me at the business and unknown people have threatened me. It took a while and I tell the employee to talk to him because there is something that could aggravate the situation. They have threatened and may confront my people without knowing that they were police officers. During this time, the employees, the company director and another employee and my two nephews who have been talking about this issue have confronted the vehicle that was at the company. They went there, he was there and asked the person who was at our company for clarification. "Who are you and why did you threaten him? We are waiting for the police to come and arrest you for threatening us. At that time, the driver comes out, who cursed, that the others were correct, they did not curse or insult," he said in an interview for Report TV.
Meanwhile, regarding the reaction of BHK, which said that the investigators were attacked without any motive, Kapllanaj claims that they were not attacked by his people. According to Kapllanaj, it was one of them, in the role of the driver, who cursed and threatened the moment the director of his company photographed the license plate of their car. He says that the driver of the car even pulled out his gun, but when the police arrived, they were identified as agents.
"It is not true that at first they were accommodated on private property and were not identified as police officers because if they had told you that we were on duty, I would have let them inside the premises because I have nothing against police officers. Even after this incident, I do not change my position that a single individual cannot dirty an institution. It is the only structure that has given Albanian citizens hope for the future of this country because they are doing their job well in the fight against crime. If they had said that they were police officers, they would have had our support. After the driver pulled out his gun, he said, "Get back, I killed you without identifying myself." When the state police arrived, they went to arrest the employee, either from the BKH or the Operational Forces, because they found him with a gun in his hand. At that moment, he said, "I am a BKH employee, stop the other people." I was immediately transferred. I will file a report through a lawyer and take him to the appropriate place because my constitutional rights cannot be denied. "There is no attack from our side, it all came about because of the arrogance of one person, not to mention the other two. That person was the cause of the whole incident," adds Kapllanaj.
Regarding the role of his two arrested nephews, Kapllanaj says that to his knowledge they went for clarification and that there was no attack. He says that he has not had any contact with them because they were arrested, but added that, based on the information he received from other attendees, there were no attacks but perhaps some provocation from one side or the other.
"To my knowledge, they simply went to seek clarification, they saw the stopped car. They are inside and I have not communicated with the grandchildren. To my knowledge, there were other people there who explained to me, they asked for explanations. One of the people in the car got out and asked them to leave and they pushed them. Maybe there was a push from one side or the other, but there was no attack. No punching. We simply wanted to stop these people who threatened us, cursed and insulted us within the company. When they told me they were police officers, I was stunned. I said why don't they identify themselves. They told me you have the right to file a report. I said let the gentlemen come and confront them, apologize for the curse and shake their hand. Last night I stayed until 4:30 and no one took my criminal report," added Kapllanaj.
