Petro Koçi closed the Commission's door, Artan Fuga reacts harshly:

The transfer of Albanological Studies under the Academy of Sciences has opened many debates among academics and MPs who do not consider this transfer as "melting". Among the many academics, even Artan Fuga is a character who has been against this transition.

Invited to News 24, Fuga commented on the issue of the Academy of Sciences and the position of the deputy of the Socialist Party, Petro Koçi, regarding the bill for the academy.

The debate started after MP Koçi, in the meeting held the day before at the Media Commission, requested that academician Fuga not be present at the next meeting.

Academician Fuga said that MP Koçi and MP Ismet Beqiraj are trying to break the law and that they do not give any argument in favor of the case. Among other things, the academic said that the deputies did not have any consultation or any open meeting to share the pro and con positions in public on this issue.

"According to the law proposed by MP Petro Koçi and MP Ismet Beqiraj, a change is required. This law that I oppose has to do with the fact that; The Presidency of the Academy of Sciences has the opportunity to run for a second term after one term. The current law does not allow it. This draft law of the deputies requires that they remove the possibility that even after the age of 75 you are included in this age. When an amendment is made to a bill it is made to improve it. I have entered the procedural side and yesterday there was a meeting to decide the agenda of the Commission for the coming week. At yesterday's meeting, Mr. Koçi said that Mr. Fuga should not come to the next meeting," said Fuga.

He further added that the most disturbing in that meeting was the mindset that appeared, as according to him, a deputy was seeking to disqualify an academic without a trial.

"I'm interested in the exclusionary mindset that emerged. How is it possible that a deputy wants to take away the right of an academic without a trial, let alone a citizen. These MPs probably do not want a confrontation, or maybe they call it a waste of time to discuss what they have decided. The climax was reached yesterday. I ask, these two MPs, with whom they consulted to arrive at the legal proposals they propose, since their relationship has no trace of consultations. The law requires this. I have been saying for four months let's discuss in public, let me come to the Assembly to discuss. In journalism, it is said that all parties should be heard. A draft law requires getting an expert, comparative discussions should also be done.

The draft law of Mr. Koçi and Beqiraj cannot pass, there are some arguments that they do not know because they have not been deepened. I will propose other very good alternative ways to improve the legal way of the Academy of Sciences, for the education of the youth, with knowledge, with science and not to deal with a deputy with such thoughts, not 74-year-old or 75-year-old , it's trivialization" , concluded Artan Fuga.
