"We are taking money from the children"/ Pensioners protesting again,

Pensioners gathered again in protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, with one main demand: Increase in pensions. This is the third protest called by the Joint Movement that brought pensioners together.

They call on the elderly to go out in protest as only in this way there can be a change in their pensions.

Kimete, a lady who came from Elbasan for the protest, said that the work of 42 years as a lawyer has not been rewarded, bringing disappointment at this stage of her life.

"I worked for 42 years and today I want to cry about how we live with that kind of pension. I am a lawyer by profession. I get 300 thousand, I don't call it a big pension because this is our hack. In front of others, I don't say that there are people who have pensions, that they have 150,000 lek and why I am right, but I'm sorry," said pensioner Kimete Lengo.

Children are the only hope and support of many retirees. But for Kimeta to receive money from her child, it would be the next shock for her.

"Today, the children tell us, do you want money? You have money, mom, I can't accept it and if I don't have it, I say I have... Children help us, I had to do an operation after so many years, where would I find the money. My daughter came to me and I was forced to accept, I had no other choice," said the pensioner.

Not all retirees are lucky enough to have children and help them. The pension and his challenges, they have to face on their own.

"The first protest, I want our pensions to increase. I get 186,000 Lek, I know the coffee in the center, I have to go to the suburbs, here it is 80 Lek, there 50 Lek. No one helps me, I'm alone. With savings, enough to eat because I don't spend much, I can't buy fruit every day.

There is not much, there should be more. Perhaps out of fear, he who feels his own pocket should come out here. 180 thousand ALL, including the increase. I went to get my pension and in 1 hour I didn't get more than 140,000 lek that I get. How do we manage, begging the children, it doesn't work out any other way. Everyday, 1 kg of tomatoes costs 120 Lek, we buy them whole grains, one tomato one cucumber", said another.

The pensioners' protests will continue until there is an answer to their demands, which are: an increase in the living minimum, an increase in the social pension and any type of pension, reimbursable medicines are added, and the miner's status is approved.
