The work for the establishment of the refugee camp in Lezhë is moving at a fast pace and on June 3, it is expected to be handed over to the Italian authorities the first Hot Spot structure, located in the area of the port of Shengjin, which will be used for the identification and distribution of immigrants .

The news was confirmed by the Italian Police union, which claims that an organizational meeting of the blue uniforms of the neighboring country was held for this purpose on May 27. To guarantee the security of the first structure, 20 officers from the mobile units of the Italian Police will be sent initially.

"The area in question, as well as the camp being built in Gjadër, enjoy extraterritoriality, so they are completely under the jurisdiction of the Italian State, while the Albanian armed forces will operate outside their perimeter", underlines the announcement of the Italian Police Union. "Everything related to operational capacity, power and legal conditions related to different phases of the service will be determined in the bilateral agreements that are being perfected",  the announcement states.

The Italian Police officers who will serve in this immigrant camp will alternate with 1-month shifts, during which time they will be reimbursed with 100 Euros per day, while food and accommodation will be guaranteed near Albanian hotel structures, by the Rome authorities.

At the end of July, the camp in Gjadër is expected to be ready and the entire operation to start work, with the presence of a staff of 300 people, of which 176 are from the State Police.
