The University of Tirana has reacted to the attack on lawyer and lecturer Sokol Mêngjesi. UT has condemned the barbaric violence against him, while wishing him a speedy recovery.
In response, UT demands that the prosecution reveal as soon as possible the identity of the perpetrators and the motive of this attack.
"The University of Tirana condemns the aggressive attack against the lecturer of the Faculty of Law and the lawyer Sokol Mêngjesi. We expect and believe that the police and the prosecution will clarify as soon as possible the authors and motives of this criminal and dangerous attack. The staff of the University of Tirana is in these moments near the family of Sokol Mengjesi", the press release states.
Lawyer Sokol Mêngjesi was raped this morning by three unidentified people, as he left his son in the garden, in the area of the former block. After severe violence with a crowbar, he is in the Trauma Hospital with several head fractures.
