Tensions were recorded during the Democratic Party march, where police intervened with armored vehicles with water cannons to disperse protesters near the Tirana Police Directorate.
According to reports from the field, the officers did not allow the crowd to approach the building and used water cannons to repel it, scattering the protesters in several directions. The situation became tense after some people attempted to approach the security cordon.
Earlier, during the march in other areas of the capital, a Molotov cocktail was thrown near the villa of former dictator Enver Hoxha. After this moment, law enforcement increased measures and intervened to prevent further escalation.
Meanwhile, the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, was seen getting into a vehicle and leaving the protest area, while the situation remains dynamic and under monitoring by law enforcement.
The opposition protest took the form of a march on several axes of Tirana, starting from the Prime Minister's Office and continuing towards other institutions, while the evening was accompanied by episodes of tension and police intervention to disperse the crowd.
