The government has approved an additional fund of over 450 million lek for the organization of the summit on May 16 in Tirana, where the Political Community meeting will take place.
According to the decision, the Ministry of Interior will receive a fund of 92.8 million lek, divided into two items. The State Police will receive 44.1 million lek and the Republic Guard 48.6 million lek.
Meanwhile, the Directorate of Government Services will receive an additional fund of 360 million lek. The government's decision stipulates that the financial effect of 452.8 million lek will be covered by the state budget reserve fund, approved for 2025.

The European Political Community, an initiative of French President Macron launched in 2022, is a pan-European forum, comprising more than 40 heads of state from both inside and outside the EU. Some critics see the European Political Community as a mechanism that was set up to slow down the rapid expansion of the EU by keeping the Balkan states, Ukraine, Moldova and Western Georgia in the waiting room indefinitely.
The European Political Community is not a decision-making body like the European Union or the NATO alliance.
At its meetings, no declaration is published, no treaty or law is implemented, but views are exchanged and bridges of communication are reestablished.

In accordance with Article 100 of the Constitution, Articles 5 and 45 of Law No. 9936/2016, “On the Management of the Budget System in the Republic of Albania”, as amended, and Article 14 of Law No. 115/2024, “On the 2025 Budget”, upon the proposal of the Minister of Finance, the Council of Ministers
Decided: 1. In the approved budget for 2025, to cover the costs of organizing the High-Level Meeting of the European Political Community (EPC), to be organized in Tirana, on May 16, 2025, an additional fund is made, as follows:
a) To the Ministry of Interior, a fund of 92,828,000 (ninety-two million eight hundred and twenty-eight thousand) lek, divided:
i. For the “State Police” program, under the item “Current Expenditures”, a fund of 44,168,000 (forty-four million one hundred sixty-eight thousand) lek;
ii. For the “Guard of the Republic” program, under the item “Capital Expenditures”, a fund of 48,660,000 (forty-eight million six hundred and sixty thousand) lek.
b) To the Directorate of Government Services, a fund of 360,045,000 (three hundred sixty million forty-five thousand) lek.
2. The financial effect, of 452,873,000 (four hundred and fifty-two million eight hundred and seventy-three thousand) lek, is covered by the reserve fund of the state budget, approved for 2025.
3. The Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Interior and the Directorate of Government Services are responsible for the implementation of this decision.
This decision enters into force immediately and is published in the "Official Gazette".
