The chairman of the Republican Party, Fatmir Mediu, has revealed some details about the technology of weapons production in our country.
The media showed that Albania had three main factories for the production of weapons, explosives and ammunition.
He also said that in Poliçan these days there are two Franco-Swiss devices for the production of cartridges, but according to him, they have never been put to work.
"Albania last tried to produce cartridges or even Kalashnikovs in 2006-2007 at the request of our partners, which worked for a short period of time. But it doesn't have the technology. There is Chinese and Russian technology in Albania.
As far as I know, there are two devices for the production of cartridges in Poliçan that are Franco-Swiss, but which have never been put into operation. I heard Pelesh say that we need to revitalize the military industry, but this kind of request by Zelensky is an emergency request that does not match the possibilities that Albania has. Then what Albania can do next, that is another issue.
There were three factories, one for the production of cartridges in Poliçan, one for the production of weapons or Kalashnikovs in Gramsh, and one for the production of explosives in Mjekëz. These became more about the dismantling and destruction of weapons and today to my knowledge there is no more technology for weapons today. There were 100 more victims from the demolition before Gërdec, but you don't know anything," Mediu told Euronews Albania.
