Residents of the Baks-Rrjoll area have taken to the streets today to protest once again against the construction of a tourist resort on properties they claim belong to them.
The rally was attended by women, men, children and the elderly, who expressed their determination to prevent the project from developing.
Their reaction follows the decision of the Administrative Court to dismiss the request for securing the lawsuit, with which the residents aimed to suspend the works until the final review of the case. According to the protesters, this decision leaves them without immediate legal protection and endangers their properties.
Tensions were also noted during the protest, with verbal clashes with court expert Romeo Nazarko. Residents accuse him of having a role in the property valuation process, allegations that remain to be verified by the relevant authorities.
The protesters have warned that they will escalate their reaction if they do not receive a solution to the ownership issue. A few days ago, they held another protest in front of the Parliament, demanding the intervention of MPs and state institutions.
The residents emphasize that they will not withdraw from their request until a full and fair resolution of the property issue is reached.
