The head of the PDIU, Shpëtim Idrizi, said that the choice of Fredi Beleri as a candidate for Himara and the positions of the official Athens after his arrest, are not accidental.
In an interview for "News24", Idrizi spoke about the protest announced today in Himara for the "Beleri" case, as he emphasized that Greece will return to ethnic tensions in Himara. He further added that Beler's file on the Peshkepi massacre disappeared from the archive of the Tirana Court a year ago, requesting SPAK to investigate this matter.
"I believe that it is reasonable for everyone to think that something unreasonable is happening in the middle of the tourist season. And this protest is an intervention in the internal affairs of Albania and above all a pressure on the Albanian justice system, the judicial system. Constantly at this time, various officials have come, threatening Mr. Beleri.
Mr. Beleri won the municipality of Himara with a handful of votes and dozens of buses from Greece. He is accused by SPAK of buying this handful of votes and of course he is kept in prison and has gone through all the levels of the judiciary. All these are in the hands of a justice system which is independent. At first glance, it seems a kind of absurdity that they come from Greece and apply pressure.

According to him, this character was found precisely for the return of forgotten ethnic tensions in Himare.
" The case of Mr. Belerit is being treated by SPAK because it has to do with election crimes. But I am impressed by one thing, there was an official accusation regarding the Peshkpi massacre and the file was closed a year ago. The reason for the closure was because Greece never responded to the order letter. The file of Mr. Beleri in the Court of Tirana, in its archive. Before threatening the integration of Albania, Greek officials should turn to their judiciary to respond to the Albanian authorities. I invite SPAK in this case to investigate how the file of Mr. Beleri from the archives of the Court of Tirana" , he said.
He emphasized that the intervention of Athens in Albania is related to the violation of dignity, sovereignty and interference in the internal affairs of Albania.
"You have seen the rhetoric of Mr. Beleri, which is not accidental. He started by saying that Albanians come from the Caucasus, he started talking about the Hellenization of the South, while everyone knows that Himara is not a minority area because Albania has defined these areas since the time of King Zog. You cannot make a minority area which is very much inside the Albanian territory.
Himara has no land continuity with Greece. Chameria has land continuity with Albania. There are some such concepts that show when individual rights turn into collective rights.
