The "Bogdani" case, why do cardiac arrests occur and is ice the secret

Commenting on the death of Gerti Bogdan, the cardiologist, Indrit Temali, has stated that the blockage of the arteries of the heart comes from genetic causes, or because of a bad lifestyle.

According to cardiologist Temali, bad lifestyle, drug use and genetic predisposition are some of the factors that can increase the chances of a young person suffering cardiac arrest.

" Clogs of the arteries that block the heart are known, even at young ages due to bad lifestyle. Smoking is a widespread vice among young people, genetic predisposition, cocaine use, are causes that influence the increase of heart arrhythmia. Physical exhaustion leads to autonomic stimulation, i.e. constant adrenaline and the lack of a balance between work and rest are inflammatory factors, and can expose us to hypertension or arrhythmia ", said Temali in "Euronews Albania".

Asked about a theory that circulates that people who suffer cardiac arrest can be brought back to life if they are immersed in ice, the cardiologist said that it is still not possible to speak for sure, as studies are needed that will be able to prove this theory.

" Scientifically, we do not have such data, but we know that when the person has previously survived a cardiac arrest, he should avoid hyperthermia, i.e. high temperatures, and he should be cooled if such a case exists. But this method that can be brought back to life with ice has not yet been tried ", said the cardiologist.
