The Ministry of Defense has reacted to the consequences of the floods that occurred this Sunday, following heavy rainfall.
The Ministry announces that civil protection structures, in cooperation with local government and responsible institutions, have been closely monitoring the situation throughout the country over the last 24 hours.
According to the official announcement, the region most affected by high-intensity rainfall is Shkodra, where teams from the National Civil Protection Agency (AKMC) and the Armed Forces (FA) have been on the ground since morning.
In the municipality of Vau i Dejës, the situation is moving towards normalization, while the water level has decreased significantly and in some homes the water has completely receded. To avoid the risk of flooding, excavators are being used to divert the flow of the stream and erect a protective embankment.
Meanwhile, interventions are being carried out in the municipality of Fushë Arrëz and in the administrative unit of Gur i Zi, where inert materials and fallen stones are being cleaned from the road axes to guarantee normal vehicle circulation.
Meanwhile, in other regions of the country, there are no reported problems with infrastructure or housing as a result of the rainfall.
The Ministry emphasizes that the National Civil Protection Agency, the Armed Forces and local civil emergency structures are continuing to monitor the situation continuously.
