The lawyer Gent Serjani has stated that the trade unions in Albania have become like political parties and in a way are their extensions.
Serjani said that the unions in our country have the same structure as those before the 90s.
He also spoke about the new unions, which according to him, have a difference from the old ones, as they are in defense of the employees and have also organized protests for their rights.
"Today we do not have a protection from the institutions and the government towards the workers. These are the main concerns and I joined the new unions today. Because if we look at the history of trade unions in our country, it seems to me that it is the same thing with what happened to the political parties in our country. After 90, 2 parties were created that had the same composition with the same people who were part of the previous party. Even today, the unions have almost the same structure as those before the 90s ", emphasized Serjani pwr Euronews.
"A union becomes stronger when one political force comes and the other political force does not come to power. Even the trade unions are extensions of the political parties. While the new unions have created a different relationship with the employees. They defended and protect them, as well as protested for the rights of employees", added Serjani.
