Well-known lawyer, Romeo Kara has warned of trouble for former prime minister Sali Berisha and former president Ilir Meta. Both Meta and Berisha are being investigated by the Special Prosecutor's Office (SPAK) for some corrupt and criminal affairs that they are suspected of being involved in. But as far as the investigations for them and what is expected to happen with their files, lawyer Kara declares that the Berisha-Meta binomial will face unpleasant surprises.
Kara revealed that the arrest warrant is ready for Ilir Meta and that according to the latter, all his property will be seized. He also spoke about the existence of another file that will explode in SPAK, which will shake the "Berisha" family from its foundations.
- Mr. Kara, the Supreme Court overturned the decision of the Appeal for the seal of the DP and returned the case for reconsideration to this court with another body. This is a small victory for Berisha, who appealed to the Supreme Court against the March 3 decision of the Appeal. Now the seal is no longer in Basha's hands until a second decision of the Appeal, even though he appears in the court as the chairman of the Democratic Party. How do you see this decision?
Legally, I consider it to be the best and fairest possible decision. The court has already legitimized the DP headed by Lulzim Basha as a party in the process, and seen from this point of view, it cannot be considered a victory for Berisha, who tried a lot to prevent this DP from being accepted as a party. The case could have been returned for retrial to the Court of First Instance of Tirana, but this would lead to a further extension of the process, which only serves to increase the tension within the DP groups. We will have a trial on the merits of the case, but in a much shorter time, avoiding a whole judicial process. So, there is no reason to see it as Berisha's victory, especially considering the legitimization of Basha's Democratic Party.
- Sali Berisha has been placed under house arrest with closed doors and contact only with family members. Did you think this day would come for Sali Berisha, or is this the beginning for him of all the bad things he has done?
Not only have I thought about this day, but I also believed a lot in a real confrontation on the path of justice for this day to come. I have said this many times in previous interviews with you and I assure you that I say what I believe. Now we have to see with strength and faith how Berisha and all the politics he represents, get the punishment they deserve and get rid of the endless riches they have robbed this people. In any case, we should not line up by asking for a complete establishment of justice and its strengthening. Never again will we allow any person who seeks to be above the law. If we allow one, then we have signed our submission to him and he will never rule as a leader in a democratic country, but as a ruler from whom law, justice and goodness emanate. So the establishment of justice will lead us to the installation of real democracy, which unfortunately has never been enjoyed by us. Edmond Burke says: Without justice, freedom and democracy cannot survive for long.
- What awaits us politically in 2024, how do you see the opposition with the departure of Sali Berisha?
The year 2024 will be the year of justice, the year of the agony of corrupt politics, the year of the installation of punishment for the unpunished, the year of the revival of hope for the common people, the year when the principles will reappear in front of and against the political bargain as well as the covenant. 30 years of ruling thieves. It will definitely be a year full of events, dynamics and changes, a year of the destruction of idols and the return of smiles to Albanians.
-In addition to the departure of Sali Berisha, we are seeing that Ilir Meta has been withdrawing from politics for months. Not only has he abandoned the protests organized by Berisha, but he is not even appearing in the media. Is it possible that the former president is afraid that the same fate as Berisha will follow him because of the many files he has in SPAK?
No doubt your question has the full answer within it. Meta, this political lightning rod, extremely rich from nothing and only governing, is already one step away from the fatal confrontation with justice, a confrontation which has been delayed more than necessary. However, he is already completely ruined politically and waiting for the communication of accusations from the justice bodies. This expectation is really crushing the strongman of the New Market, which is clearly seen from the unusual physical destruction, that they are eating the money that he has stolen from the Albanians. Meta is completely tired and unmotivated to defend himself and no longer Berisha. There is a good chance that he would thank SPAK if they arrested him today, so that his horror would finally end. Let's give him a little more time in the horror he is experiencing. He totally deserves it.
- SPAK itself has started confiscation of evidence in the "Meta" family, even Kryemadhi confirmed that SPAK has put them under financial investigation, do you think it can sink their wealth?
Nuk mund të kalohet lumi i drejtësisë së ngarkuar me pasuri haram pafund. Jo vetëm familjen Meta-Kryemadhi, por e gjithë politika e korruptuar do të fundoset nëse merret seriozisht vetëm verifikimi i pasurisë së saj. Kam bindjen e plotë se drejt këtij procesi po shkojmë. Dhjetëra miliarda euro do t'i kthehen më në fund atyre që iu takojnë, shqiptarëve të ndershëm kur të bëhet konfiskimi i pasurive të lubive politike përfshirë edhe atë të Metës mes tyre.
-Shkëlzen Berisha ngjiti këtë javë shkallët e Gjykatës së Posaçme, ku dëshmoi për tragjedinë e “Gërdecit”. Javën që kaloi ai ju shmang thirrjes, por këtë herë u paraqit që herët në mëngjes. Si e shikoni këtë zhvillim?
E shikoj si fundin e karshillëkut berishian përballë drejtësisë dhe ligjit. E shikoj si fillim e fundit të sundimit të tyre dhe si një hap sinjifikativ për atë çfarë berishat i pret më pas, ndëshkimin ligjor. Çdo fillim e ka një fund dhe duhet besuar se ky është fillimi i fundit të klanit mafioz Berisha. Asnjë nuk do ta ndalë tashmë fundin dhe ndëshkimin e tyre. Këtë gjë e dimë ne, por e di edhe vetë klani Berisha dhe këtë gjë ata e shfaqin në çdo lëvizje dhe prononcim. Tashmë do të mësohemi me qenien e tyre prezent dhe përpara organeve të drejtësisë.
-Vendimi i fundit i Gjykatës së Strasburgut për Aleks Nikën, thotë se ka dy shkelje në këtë çështje: Vrasja dhe më pas mos zbardhja e vrasjes! Në vendimin e kësaj gjykate theksohet se shteti ka përgjegjësi për vrasjen e Aleks Nikës, ndërsa fajtori duhet të dënohet. Pra Strasburgu i dha një goditje tronditëse Sali Berishës dhe çetës së tij që zbatuan urdhrat për vrasjet në 21 janar. Si e komentoni këtë vendim?
E vlerësoj si një sihariq për familjet e viktimave dhe ne qe kemi pritur kaq shume vite që drejtësia të thotë fjalën e saj. Tashmë do të kemi një investigim të plotë se si u dha urdhri për të qëlluar mbi turmën dhe si u ekzekutua ai. Kemi edhe dëshmi nga vetë stafi i kryeministrisë së asaj kohe ku deklarohet se janë prekur serverat e kryeministrisë. Pra e vërteta na është fshehur deri më tani. Ky do të jetë një nga dy proceset së bashku me atë të Gërdecit për të cilat Berisha do paraqitet sërish përpara drejtësisë.
-Si i komentoni përgjimet e “SKY ECC”? Aty thuhet se dalin gazetarë të njohur që bashkëpunojnë me krimin dhe politikanë që kanë porositur vrasje.
E kemi hamendësuar këtë gjë, por tashme duhet pritur që të dalin faktet e qarta dhe të bëhet hetimi mbi to. Nuk do të çuditesha që kemi gazetarë të tillë zëdhënës të interesave të krimit dhe pjesë të tij. Shpresoj që të zbardhen sa më shpejt emrat e tyre dhe t'i sikterisim përfundimisht nga komuniteti i gazetarëve ku unë fus edhe veten. Ne na duhet një gazetari dinjitoze, transparente dhe me integritet profesional dhe njerëzor larg ndikimeve të jashtëligjshme. Edhe për gazetarët duhen bërë verifikimet e duhura mbi pasurinë, pasi disa prej tyre o janë kthyer në oligarkë ose iu janë bashkangjitur atyre.
- It is said that the Americans and the British are expected to bring another "black list". Do you think there will be names from the opposition since some of them are not complying with the demands of the internationals for dissociating from the support of the corrupt and "non-women"?
We have heard that there are names from both parties, the position and the opposition, but this must be officially verified. It is more logical that Berisha's tools are treated like him. Berisha is a system and as such should be treated and made 'non-women'./ Sot
