IT expert Erion Demiri, speaking about online fraud schemes, which many Albanians are falling prey to recently, warned citizens to be careful.
The expert focused specifically on an online game of chance, called "Rruga e Pula". According to Demir, unofficial copies of this game are circulating in Albania, created by criminal groups, whose main goal is to steal Albanians' data and money.
"Rruga e Pula is an electronic game that in Albania is trying to deceive citizens. This game is genuine, it is offered by quite large platforms that are real platforms and that you can play for real with the casino formats that we know. It has gained quite a bit of fame mainly in India. But what is different is that copies of this game have been created by criminal groups with the aim of deceiving citizens and stealing their money. They advertise it as if it is the same game, but the schemes that are used are very different. There are many copies of this game, which they offer by deceiving.
It's a game of chance but the algorithm can be manipulated. In this case it's a chicken that crosses a road and the more you cross, the more you win. But the difference is that if you enter the data, you are at risk. In this case, bank data is required. Recently, such scams have increased, which are increasingly targeting Albanians. This is because the majority of the population is ignorant, and also the leakage of some sensitive information years ago has made us more exposed ," he said, on the "Breaking" show on Top News.
