The President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, is on a diplomatic tour of the six Western Balkan countries, ahead of the EU-Western Balkans Summit to be held on June 5 in Tivat, Montenegro.
As part of this regional visit, Costa will be in Tirana today, where he will hold meetings with Prime Minister Edi Rama and President Bajram Begaj. During his visit to the Albanian capital, he will also meet with students from the Tirana Campus of the College of Europe.
According to the announcement by the Media and Information Agency, Prime Minister Rama will receive the President of the European Council as part of diplomatic consultations preceding the Tivat regional summit.
The EU-Western Balkans Summit will be held just six months after the last meeting in Brussels, reflecting the European Union's continued commitment to strengthening relations with the countries of the region.
After the bilateral meeting between the delegations, scheduled from 11:15 to 12:00, Rama and Costa will hold a joint press conference, which will take place from 12:15 to 12:45.

The summit is being held six months after the last summit in Brussels, reaffirming the strengthening of the EU's relations with the Western Balkans.
Tomorrow, after the joint meeting between the two delegations, Prime Minister Rama and the President of the Council of Europe Antonio Costa will hold a joint press conference.
