The Director of the State Police, Muhamet Rrumbullaku, has held a meeting with the management structures of 12 Local Directorates in the districts, where he asked for the improvement of the standard of the police service, especially at the height of the tourist season.
Rrumbullaku said that Local Directorates should strengthen and improve field services to cope with the increased number of tourists, to increase the quality of service to them, as well as to prevent and detect criminal events.
"Any violation of ethics by police officers, in contact with tourists, will not only be treated as an individual responsibility, but also as a responsibility of the relevant leaders. The State Police is not a structure for setting fines and collecting them, but is at the service of citizens, local and foreign, demonstrating ethics and professionalism. Counseling and assistance to citizens should be primary in the work of the police officer", said Director Madhor Muhamet Rrumbullaku.
Also, the General Director of the State Police asked the local police leaders to take measures to prevent and fight crime, with a special focus on the fight against the cultivation of narcotic plants and bringing wanted persons to justice.
