Aida Demi, director of the Cadastre in Saranda, has been dismissed from her position.
The dismissal came after the investigation of a television show, where it was shown how the family of the director of the Cadastre, Aida Demi, has benefited from land that was previously sea.
"The hotel by the sea, built by Aida Demi's family on a plot of land purchased through the privatization process in 1992, swallowed up a significant part of the seashore, a part that was filled with inerts and returned to the ground.
With a sales contract on July 5, 2019, the Ministry of Finance sold it to the Demi family, turning the sea into land. After only 4 days, the Demi family received the ownership certificate not for the 600 m2 they bought, but for 1325 m2.
Then, in the years 2020 and 2021 and 2022, Aida Demi's family received several permits for the construction of a new facility and additional floors for the existing facility. "Aida Demi has legalized two floors of a building without permission, for which there was a demolition order from the Municipality and INUK," the investigative show says.
