Lawyer Romeo Kara has revealed for the first time the reasons why Genci Gjokutaj is no longer Ilir Meta's lawyer.
A few weeks ago, in the hearing for the former president, Kujtim Cakrani was seen in the courtroom, not Gjokutaj, who had been friends with Meta for a long time. No one has revealed the real reasons for this change, but Kara says that there was a big fight between them. In an interview, he confessed that during a meeting between Meta and Gjokutaj in the premises of prison 313, there was shouting.
" One of Meta's screams, because his screams could be heard outside, was: 'Write what I tell you, not what you say !'" Kara confessed to "Dritare.net".
He stressed that Meta does not let anyone do their job, not even the lawyer who is trying to save him from prison. Kara added that Meta is treating the judicial process as a political and personal battle, not as a serious confrontation with justice.
According to him, Gjokutaj's removal is just a symptom of the way Meta treats the entire system, as private property. Instead of calm and professional legal defense, Meta demands total submission.
