Almost 3 months have passed since the former President of the country, Ilir Meta, is in the cell. As a few days ago he testified in SPAK regarding the issue of lobbying in the USA, all the curiosity in the public opinion is about his "life in prison" already.
Regarding this, lawyer Genc Gjokutaj spoke in an interview with journalist Besard Jacaj in Klan News. He said that Meta is in a very good health and emotional state, stressing that he continues with the exercise of his political duties.
" I don't believe that there is any public interest in how he spends his day in the cell, of course Mr. Meta deals with materials. He is the President of the Freedom Party and exercises his duties even under conditions of isolation. This problem of communication has been solved because paper and pencil have been working for centuries and are even more accurate than the electronic way or these portals. He is present, engaged in reading, with that daily regimen. He is in an excellent state of health, there is no problem ", he said in "Klan News".
The lawyer even said that Meta is ready to communicate with the media through him.
" If you have questions, give them to me and I will take them and give them the answers. He expressed this willingness publicly, even through me. It is an obligation that he feels in himself, but it is also part of his nature, public communication ", he continues.
Gjokutaj also gave an answer to the last statements of MP Monika Kryemadhi. According to her, she and the former President do not maintain a good relationship after the divorce, "as people close to him encourage him".
" I think it is part of Mrs. Kryemadhi's increased mood, there is nothing real in this part. Who are the people around him? I go to see him, his children, his sister. First, we don't have the integrity to intervene, and second, Meta does not accept advice on such topics ," he added.
