The Competition Authority has launched an investigation into the collection and wholesale of fruit and vegetables.
The preliminary investigation will take place in the districts of Tirana, Elbasan, Berat, Fier and Korçë.
The report states that the majority points in Tirana raised prices up to 100% when they sold to minority businesses.
In Fier, the prices from the farmer to the majority points were increased by 11-50%.
In Elbasan, the price increase of fruits and vegetables from the collectors from the farmer to the majority was from 7-56%.
Even the collectors of Korça abused the prices, they increased the prices of fruits and vegetables by 17-40% from the moment they were bought from the farmer to the wholesale sale.
Meanwhile, the collectors of Berat collected the product without invoices from the farmers, declared unrealistic prices.
