The National Operational Center for Civil Emergencies reported that from 09:00 to 20:30 on July 4, 2025, a total of 14 fire outbreaks were identified throughout the country. Thanks to the rapid intervention of operational forces, 10 of them have been completely extinguished, while four remain active. One of the active outbreaks is the waste field in Elbasan, although the official announcement states that there are 30 firefighters on the ground and there is a significant improvement in the situation.
Extinguished fires include the following areas:
Komsi (Mat)
Hajmel (Vau i Dejës)
Perondi (Kuçovo)
Oil Bridge (Dimal)
Ishëm, Rrashbull (Durrës)
Rubik (Mirditsa)
Plug (Plug)
Vrtop (Polichan)
Active fires:
Vlorë (Finiq) – On the Shedenik mountain, the fire continues to spread in an area of pine forest, inaccessible on foot. It is being monitored remotely. There is no danger to homes.
Elbasan – At the urban waste dump, the intervention has improved significantly. Over 30 firefighting vehicles, both military and private, have been deployed, including excavators, suction pumps and FA tractors.
Kukës (Has) – In the area between Gjinaj and Domaj, the fire remains active in an area of pine forest. Most of it is isolated.
Tirana (Vaqarr) – In the village of Bulticë, a bush and thorn bush fire has been contained with the help of a Cougar helicopter. 40 firefighters and APR are working. The burned area is about 4 hectares.
Authorities remain on the ground and are continuously monitoring the situation, making additional resources available to prevent the flames from spreading further.
