The former deputy director of Tirana police, Erzen Brecani, arrested by order of the Special Prosecutor's Office for some serious criminal offences, has denied receiving money from his son Eralbi Brecani or Ervin Mata.
Breçani was interrogated by the investigators of the National Bureau of Investigation in the presence of three legal defenders, where he clarified the relationship he had with Ervin Mata, as his son's brother-in-law, while denying involvement or knowledge of drug trafficking.
Despite Breçan's statements, the Special Prosecutor's Office has launched a property investigation for all transactions that were made at his address or close persons, based on conversations revealed by Sky ECC communications, for the transfer of amounts from 350,000 to 500,000 thousand euros.
Also, the assets of all other arrested persons and their family members are passing through the sieve of SPAK.
Meanwhile, two days ago SPAK requested the extradition to Albania of Ismail Zeneli, the member of the group who was arrested by the Spanish police in execution of the arrest warrant issued by SPAK. Zeneli is the person who, according to the investigation file, wanted to kill the Nela brothers for revenge, as he suspected that in 2013 they had killed in his eyes, the brother with the changed name, Xhem Krasniqi, a crime that had taken place in Great Britain. According to SPAK, Ismail Zeneli is a member of the group of Ervin Mata and Eralbi Breçani for drug trafficking.
