The tampering with the TIMS system seems to have worried the Americans considerably. In addition to the US envoys in our country, who raised the alarm about what had happened, it seems that experts from ICITAP and the International Bureau of Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) have knocked on the police offices.
A few days after the scandal in question, today the police director Muhamet Rrumbullaku hosted the new Director of ICITAP, Mr. Richard Deasy and the Director of INL, Mr. John Casting.
According to the police, the focus of the discussion with the holders of the Program and the Bureau was the further progress of cooperation with the State Police, for joint investigations, unified strikes against criminal groups involved in drug trafficking, as well as tracking and seizing assets with source of crime.
" The General Director appreciated the cooperation so far with ICITAP and INL, for areas of high expertise and importance for citizens, as well as expressed the readiness of the State Police to further intensify cooperation against organized criminal phenomena and international. Also, the General Director requested from the heads of ICITAP and INL, further assistance and contribution for the implementation of the human resources management system (PRIMS) ", the police announced.
But even though it is not stated in the announcement, according to reliable sources, the meeting is focused on interventions in the TIMS system. They have asked for clarification from the head of the police.
A few days ago the scandal broke after every data was taken from an external hard drive. It was the first embassy to announce the intrusions, while it was later admitted that an employee had obtained all the data. The Americans are worried about their diplomats and their people and it seems that they are now engaged and at the expert level to see what happened.
