The sexual scandal in the Kukës Municipality/ GJKKO's appeal increases the sentence for Safet Gjicin by 1.5 years in prison; changes the charge against Alma Kaçi 

The Special Court of Appeal overturned the first-instance decision for Safet Gjici, ultimately sentencing him to 4 years and 6 months in prison.

Gjici was sentenced by a final decision, not for abuse of office but for passive corruption. The criminal offense was also changed for Alma Kaçi.

She was convicted in the first degree for prostitution while he decided to sentence her to 1 year and 6 months in prison for the charge of active corruption.

Gjici and Kaçi benefit from the shortened trial by deducting 1/3 of the sentence, namely 3 years in prison for Gjici and 1 year for Alma Kaçi.

None of them participated in the process, as the former mayor of Kukës has been in the hospital for about two months.
