The recount of votes for Tirana is nearing its end, while today, on the 9th day of the process, the remaining 69 ballot boxes are expected to be counted.
So far, 1,138 ballot boxes out of 1,207 in total have been recounted, which have not shown any changes in the result, but minor errors that have brought dissatisfaction to the candidates in this district.
Parties have lost votes that were previously considered valid by political commissioners. The DP leads with the highest number of unmerited votes, losing 594 votes. The SP has 377 unmerited votes, which are also deducted from the initial count. The Lëvizja Bashkë has 57 unmerited votes, the Nisma Shqipëria Bëhet has 45, the Mundësia Party has 43, and the PSD has 34.

Even as for the candidates, some of whom launched a legal battle for a recount, it turns out that there were vote deviations. From the Democrats, the last reopened ballot boxes have brought out Jorida Tabaku in first place with the most votes without merit. According to CEC data, 256 votes without merit have been added to her since the May 11 count. Next comes Ilir Alimehmeti, who requested a recount, with 135 votes without merit, which will be deducted from the initial result.
Yesterday, the ballot boxes of Kavaja were also opened, where the claims were not from the DP candidates, more so than from Meta, who claimed from prison that he did not receive as many votes as he actually has support. According to the CEC table, after the recount, Meta resulted with 61 undeserved votes. Myslim Murrizi also results in receiving 44 undeserved votes.
As for the SP, the first with the most unmerited votes was Minister Ervin Hoxha with 287 such votes. He is followed by Fatmir Xhafaj with 227 unmerited votes, Xhemal Qefalia with 125, and Erion Braçe with 164, who has expressed dissatisfaction with the recount and KAS, accusing the latter of declaring the votes invalid. Olta Xhaçka has 48 unmerited votes, Blerina Gjylameti has 17 votes added to them that were taken from her on May 11, but she still cannot overturn the narrow difference she has with her socialist colleague.
Meanwhile, the recount is expected to be completed today for Tirana and will then continue with the Fier region and part of the Durrës ballot boxes, some of which belong to the diaspora.
