As of 11:45 p.m. on Thursday, traffic has been blocked and parking of vehicles has been prevented on "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard, from "Ura e Dajtit" to "Ismail Qemali" Street.
The opposition will hold its next national protest this Friday, with the democrats' rally starting in front of the Prime Minister's Office at 7:00 PM.
Through a notice, Tirana Police has warned of the measures that will be taken in this protest and which road axes will be blocked.
The police appeal to the protest organizers to distance themselves from acts that violate order and security.
Speeches will be reinstated at the opposition protest. After several walking rallies, which produced nothing but chaos and roadblocks, the Democratic Party has decided to reinstate the podium for speeches in front of the prime minister's office.
Berisha will initially go to the blue headquarters and from there he will join the militants in the square, where he will also give a speech.
As of 11:45 p.m. on Thursday, traffic has been blocked and parking of vehicles has been prevented on "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard, from "Ura e Dajtit" to "Ismail Qemali" Street.
"Representatives of the political entity Democratic Party of Albania have notified the Tirana Police of the holding of a rally, on 17.04.2026, from 19:00 to 22:00, on the "Martyrs of the Nation" boulevard, in front of the Prime Minister's Office building.
Based on the law "On Gatherings", Tirana Police has taken measures to ensure the smooth conduct of the gathering at the requested location and time frame.
In implementation of these measures, today and tomorrow, movement will be restricted on several road axes/segments, specifically:
from 23:45 on 16.04.2026 until the end of the rally, traffic will be blocked and parking of vehicles will not be allowed on the "Dëshmorët e Kombit" boulevard, from the place called "Ura e Dajtit" to "Ismail Qemali" street;
From 15:00 on 17.04.2026 until the end of the rally, there will be a traffic jam on the "Dëshmorët e Kombit" boulevard, from the intersection near the Ministry of Interior to "Mother Teresa" Square, as well as on "Ukraine e Lirë", "Papa John Paul II" and "Ismail Qemali" streets.
Tirana Police appeals to the organizers of the rally to respect the deadline and the place where the rally will take place, and asks for citizens' understanding regarding the restriction of vehicle movement.
"It also appeals to distance themselves if they are faced with illegal actions that violate public order and safety," the police announced.
