Tirana Police has informed citizens about the security measures plan within the framework of the rally announced by the Democratic Party, which is expected to take place today, February 20, 2026, at 6:00 PM, in front of the Prime Minister's Office.
According to the authorities, due to the assessment of the risk of possible acts of violence following incidents recorded in previous protests, where masked individuals threw Molotov cocktails and pyrotechnics, no official approval was given for the rally to take place.
However, Police structures will be on the ground to guarantee public order and safety.
In this context, starting from 15:00 and until the end of the rally, vehicle traffic will be blocked on several main axes in the center of the capital. Specifically, movement will be restricted on the "Martyrs of the Nation" boulevard, from the Ministry of Interior to "Mother Teresa" Square, as well as on "Free Ukraine", "Papa John Paul II" and "Ismail Qemali" streets.
Police are urging citizens to avoid these road segments, use alternative routes, and report any cases of violent acts or violations of the law.
