Artan Hoxha accuses the Prime Minister: With Rama's government, the police
Edi Rama and Artan Hoxha

Journalist Artan Hoxha has commented on the law and order situation in the country, raising strong accusations about the way, according to him, the government manages the State Police and the fight against organized crime.

Hoxha stated that the police were intentionally left in poor economic conditions because a poor police force is easier to control.

According to Hoxha, the global dimensions of crime and, as he put it, 'political support within the country', put the State Police in a difficult situation.

'This government, in order to make the police more efficient and easier to command, has left them poorer than any other institution. Today, the salary of a police officer is 600 euros. It's terrible, it's an institution, the cleaners in the ministry receive 25 to 30% more than a police officer who goes out on the street. So, look at how you have it and why do you leave the police poor? Because it's easy for you to control them. It's for a living.

The police reflect the face and image of the leader. If the high government has the political will and wants to crack down on organized crime, you will see, take the van, not Renea's, but take the van of Bajram Curri's ready group, give the names of the strongest in Tirana, if they didn't gather them for two or three hours, because they don't know who he is at all, they know the name and address. Bajram Curri's van, not these, not these people around. They go and catch them. But the thing is that a situation like the one you described in Durrës happens, where he says catch that citizen. He didn't go to Durrës to wag his teeth and say, I heard that Gysi lives in this city and I want Gysi and Gysi's friends and whoever is holding Gysi because he left me with the house, I want you to catch him and bring him to justice. Did you hear that? No. The poor citizen mentioned Gysi, he told him to catch him. So, this for me is

Gysi is still in circulation, he is free and that is why the citizen suffered, so he suffered. So, if we take into account all that I just did, the panorama of the situation we are in, we cannot expect more from a police officer who has been left in these conditions. I told you last time, we were here for the protest. What need did the police have at the end of the opposition protest, they threw Molotov cocktails, those firecrackers that they are simply, are more of a directorial element. They do nothing to the building.

He is a decoration to appear in the media, that's all. Rama has not brought out that big autobot, he has not brought it out to much bigger protests before. Why does he bring it out and bring it out right at the door of the prime minister's office, which he has never brought out. And after bringing it out there, he releases the special forces and the rapid intervention forces to follow the protesters from corner to corner in the alley in the alley of Tirana.

The protesters themselves have an organization, they are not without organization there, defenders and they know that they can fall prey to provocations and they try to protect their supporters in the end. But with this situation that we have, when the United States of America finally after a very long time sanctioned an Albanian organization as a terrorist organization because it had weapons and had the nuances of a cartel and was helping the cartel, or cooperating with the Sinaloa cartel, there have never been Albanians at this level.

And this Albanian that we saw, that was sanctioned and his family, where did we see him for the first time? Where had we seen his face? I was talking about five or six years ago, but I didn't have any idea. We saw him leaving the prime minister's office and he looked like a member of parliament from a very important party in Germany, he was a CDU member.

So, we saw that this person who was already sanctioned by the United States of America, was in a meeting with the Prime Minister. We have seen all the recent reactions of the United States of America, the envoys that they have in Albania, all the envoys that they have brought to Albania, even when they go to the Ministry of Agriculture or the Ministry of Health, they have the same format.

They say, we will fight, we will support the fight against cartels, drug trafficking, and organized crime. I mentioned this just for one element, to understand what level we are at and if you have created an organized crime of this magnitude, global magnitude and they have political support within the country, the state police, thank goodness they are standing by, because in this situation, we could be much worse off.

It is an agreement to maintain and divide the territory. When the criminal situation falls, it is an agreement between the underworld and the state.',  said journalist Artan Hoxha on SYRI TV.
