As the plenary session is expected to start at 10:00, outside the premises of the Assembly, representatives of civil society are protesting to oppose the draft law on protected areas.
With a banner in their hands with the inscription "do not vote for the massacre law for protected areas", they call for it not to pass the vote.
We remind you that on the other hand, the opposition has warned that even in this session, there will be no normalcy.
Meanwhile, the majority has withdrawn from the vote in the Assembly the law on Criminal Amnesty in the absence of agreement with the opposition.
The head of the DP, Lulzim Basha and Sali Berisha's group declared yesterday that they will not vote for the Criminal Amnesty as it favors corrupt officials, the Socialist Party has withdrawn the bill that was expected to be voted on in today's plenary session in the Assembly.
The head of the SP parliamentary group, Bledi Çuçi, has asked the Speaker of the Assembly to remove it from the agenda.
Çuçi's request is expected to be read today at the start of the session by the Speaker of the Assembly, Lindita Nikolla.
The SP had extended its hand of cooperation to the opposition, more specifically to that of Lulzim Basha, to get the necessary 84 votes.
This was also seen in the acceptance of one of the proposals of the chief democrat to amnesty those arrested in the opposition protests.
The clash happened after a "secret" amendment by Plarent Ndreca to include in the amnesty also officials convicted by GJKKO for abuse of office and corruption. According to this amendment, they benefit from a reduced sentence of up to 1.5 years. Bardhi and Basha openly opposed this proposal and conditioned their vote in Parliament.
Basha was the first to declare that with this movement the majority was affecting the Justice Reform.
According to him, this is scandalous since the SP wants to amnesty the corrupt.
"It is scandalous to use the criminal amnesty, which is carried out for humanitarian reasons, to a category of convicts for simple crimes to get them out of prison while canceling the investigations into the corrupt officials of Edi Rama. This is nothing less than an intervention in the judiciary or in the reform of justice", said Basha.
