Lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu has stated that the Democratic Party has never, in 35 years, managed to overthrow a government through protests.
He stated that the protests held during 2025 were among the smallest that the DP has organized in years.
Spahiu criticized the lack of enthusiasm in the DP protests, comparing them to a funeral, while praising the protests organized by small parties.
" If we look at the picture, the 2025 protests were smaller protests by the DP. It has never happened that a government was overthrown by the DP protests. Any government that would have this negative balance in 2025 should be overthrown and early elections should be held. What if Rama resigns to go to early elections, is the DP ready to win the elections, or could Rama win more deeply.
I see enthusiasm in a protest, if you look at the protests of Lapaj, Shehaj and Qori, they have more enthusiasm, the protests of the DP are like a funeral and there is no enthusiasm and hope. They go without a program and without a platform. The smaller parties are clearer, while the same thing happens with the DP, and Berisha comes out and speaks. People get tired and no longer have enthusiasm, they can be loyal, but it is loyalty from trouble. We need political rotation in Albania ," he said on "Report TV".
