" Personal phones, in 4 years of SPAK's work, became the main source of investigators in unraveling the corruption mechanism of officials. Important files, starting with former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj, the file known to the public as 5D, or even the one against former President Ilir Meta, would have been difficult to finalize with security measures, without the data obtained from telephone devices. From 2021, SPAK's expertise sector analyzed 1152 cell phones seized for the purpose of investigations ," reports Tv Klan journalist Bleona Metushi.
Official data from the Special Prosecution Office shows that the number of seizures has increased since the start of the work of the expertise sector at SPAK until 2024, the year when 344 telephone devices were analyzed.
Computers, DVRs or even USBs are among the smallest electronic devices that have been analyzed by this sector in order to provide evidence for investigations.
More specifically, in 4 years, 185 computer devices and 78 DVRs and USBs have been seized.
The seizure of telephone equipment was mainly carried out in cases of corruption investigations, where the decisions of the Special Court were executed directly by the BKH investigators.
Officials, employees of private companies, or entrepreneurs have become the objects of phone seizure.
During 2024, experts from this sector have also carried out 15 expert reports for the Prosecutor's Offices of General Jurisdiction and the State Police. /Tv Klan
