In reporting on SPAK's activities for 2024, Altin Dumani said that he will not run again when his 9-year mandate as SPAK prosecutor ends.
However, Dumani stated that SPAK prosecutors should be given the opportunity to run for re-election after their 9-year mandate, as according to him, the mandates of 11 special prosecutors will expire within a year.
Lawyer Romeo Kara said that Dumani's arguments about the mandate of prosecutors are correct. According to him, in every state institution there should be prosecutors to take on cases.
"The structure is not special, the needs of Albania require it to be expanded. Even if they take from the district structures, they have files that last. They know the terrain and the dynamics from one case to another. The moment it emerges as a group, they will have files in their hands. Dumani's arguments for the prosecutors' mandate are right. We will have a state of suspense that will not be good.
This is the level of parliament and we are ashamed, but they conclude that we need some changes that strengthen SPAK. We have a Berisha and a Meta without any real compensation for those millions. We have had two doctor presidents, but Begaj does not compare to Berisha.
"There should be 10 prosecutors in each institution and they can take on cases. This is the minimum and they should listen to Duman because he is not talking about himself," he told "Abc News".
